First findings from the FiBiFlu project presented at EUPRERA 2026

How is financial information communicated on social media and what can professional financial communication learn from it?
Julia Sophie Blaß presented first findings from the research project FiBiFlu – Financial Education through Finfluencers? at the 27th Annual EUPRERA Congress, held September 16–19, 2026, at the University of Málaga in Spain.
The research presented is based on a systematic analysis of 1,855 finfluencer videos on Instagram and YouTube.
One finding is particularly relevant for professional financial communication: The quality of financial information depends not only on what knowledge is communicated, but also on how content is framed and presented and how it is combined with elements of self-presentation, motivation, and persuasion.
The project thus addresses key questions in the research conducted at the Center for Research in Financial Communication: How should financial information be designed to be understandable and relevant while at the same time fostering trust and credibility?
Further findings from the FiBiFlu project will follow.
