New brief study “LinkedIn in supervisory board communication”

The new short study by CRiFC analyzes the LinkedIn communication of supervisory board members of DAX 40 companies focusing on financial communication and communication on supervisory board topics

Key points of the study:

  • Activity:  379 out of 578 Supervisory Board members have a LinkedIn profile, and 230 were active during the survey.
  • Posts   4,515 contributions were published, with shareholder representatives (SRs) significantly more active than employee representatives (ERs).
  • Topics: The most common topics were CSR (27.2%), corporate strategy (22.6%), and corporate governance (13.7%).

Results in detail:

  • Financial communication: 1,265 posts covered financial communication topics, with AEV writing most of these posts.
  • Supervisory board communication:  Corporate governance (43.5%) and CSR (32%) dominated the voluntary communication of supervisory board members.

This study shows how important LinkedIn has become as a platform for the communication of supervisory board members.
