RIC conference 2025

On 14 August 2025, the RIC Conference took place for the 11th time at HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management. Its mission: to bring together academia and practice at the intersection of accounting, capital markets, and communication – in order to identify emerging trends early on and provide impulses for corporate practice.

Together, we focused on two future-oriented topics that will shape financial communication in the years to come:

1. The Role of Corporate Leadership in Financial Communication

Executives are increasingly becoming communicators themselves. Boards and supervisory boards are no longer responsible solely for strategy and oversight – through their presence in the media and digital networks, they play a decisive role in shaping credibility, trust, and capital market perception.

2. Financial Education through Finfluencers

Social media is evolving into the classroom of the financial world. Millions of young people now acquire their financial knowledge via Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube. This opens up opportunities for companies, investors, and regulators – but also raises challenges in terms of content quality, responsibility, and impact.

Our Conclusion:
The discussions made one thing clear: anyone who seeks to understand financial communication in the future must think across disciplinary boundaries. This is exactly what the RIC Conference has been fostering for more than a decade – and we look forward to continuing this dialogue in the years ahead.
