New research project: How medium-sized and family businesses deal with the requirements of CSRD

The new research and transfer project examines how medium-sized and family-owned companies deal with the requirements of CSRD. At the invitation of Berichtsmanufaktur, 10 students from the “Communication Management” master’s degree program met in Hamburg yesterday for the project kick-off. The project partners are mms solutions and Berichtsmanufaktur.

The European Union’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) represents a quantum leap in sustainability reporting – both in terms of its scope, form and standardization. Even large listed companies are under considerable pressure to meet the requirements of the CSRD. However, these companies are already among the pioneers of sustainability management and sustainability reporting. They have the necessary resources to raise their sustainability reporting to the level required by the CSRD.

In the coming months, the project team will use qualitative expert interviews to investigate how medium-sized and family-owned companies are dealing with the challenge of CSRD reporting. This is because many of them will be subject to the reporting obligations of the European Union in the future.

The project team, headed by Prof. Christian Hoffmann and Dr. Sandra Binder-Tietz, consists of Christopher Buller, Stefan Eberherr, Abel Fekade, Vanessa Freudl, Patricia Görsch, Kirsten Göthel, Nico Keppeler, Anna Kollmer, Noa Sandke and Sophie Steindorf.
